February 2014 Mission Trips
If someone were to ask us to describe our Guatemala mission trips, we would likely respond;”building relationships and seeing lives changed”. We were excited to see many of our patients return for our pre-operative clinic. Some came to say “hello” and let us check their progress since their surgery in April and others returned for additional surgical procedures. Children with cleft lip and cleft palate require multiple surgeries. We build relationship with our patients and their families and follow their progress as they grow. Many patients were screened and prepared for surgery. Families from far away stayed in a local church where they were fed and cared for by our Guatemalan friends who have a heart to help their people. Our clinic team volunteers worked tirelessly that week preparing for the surgical, dental and water system teams arriving the second week.
